Limas are not fighters, but not that fragile either. They are a cool fish.

How about a tigrinus? You could get away with one in your tank, they rarely cruise the length of the tank and spend half their time waggling vertically.

What about the Asian RTC or a mystus wyckii? Both really cool, really mean cats that shouldn't get more than around 18" in captivity.

asian RTC = hemibagrus nemerus and mystus wyckii is now called hemibagrus wyckii.

mystus wyckii (Hemibagrus wyckioides)Mmmmmmmmmmmm thats a good one yes keep it on it own. this bad boy has the reputation of being the most aggressive catfish in the world. It has the ability to bite thats why solitary confinement is the way forward. can get to 24"+ but top nasy catfish:thumbsup: good call

Now im geting really excited!:grinno: I want a mean fish, cause he is going to be alone in the tank... I want him to be able to rip things apart:naughty: !

But I would feel kind of evil keeping a 24 inch fish in a 48 inch tank.... To bad there arent any "middle sized" nice predatory cats... Or are there? like 12-14 inches?

About the tigrinus, thats a real nice fish! But unfortunately, they are really rare in sweden, I have never seen or even heard about anyone keeping one... But the fasciatum is pretty common. But they get alot bigger, right?

Same thing about the wyckii and the asian RTC... But I have heard about both, so I could probable get hold of one with a little trouble...

eric, honestly if you want a solitary mean catfish that riups things aparet get an Asian rtcv or a wysckii,.

They are both compleyely badass and should be fine in youre tasnk.

A frkend of mine hgad a wysckii in a 180 and it was only about 16 inches long, I imagine 24" plus would be rare.

They are cool fish, I've always eanted one, try and tracj one down, get someone to order you one :)

ok, nice:) guess I´ll try to get a asian RTC or wyckii then:)

But how old was your friends 16 incher?

A few years old actually, so I assume it was fully grown, or practically full grown.

That fish killed a couple of jags, and used to attack the gravel cleaner etc

Neither of them are the most active fish, however I find them both very impressive. Looks and meanness.

IMO the answer to your cat quest is the Bullhead.

Max size in the 14" to 20" range and lots of attitude.

My black bullhead is up to 11" of pure muscle. It is a realistic fish that can be housed for life. Mine lives comfortably with both cichlids and bichers.
