I seen many people trying to sell used aquariums with chipped corners. Was wondering, do you own or have you owned an aquarium with a chipped corner? I heard it is very common. Did the aquarium crack on you?

I have 2 up and running. The 46g corner tank has a chip in the corner that is more than half the thickness of the 1/4" glass.

I bought it 8years ago as a leaker. And just piled up some silicone in that corner during the reseal. Its been fine ever since.

i have a 29 gallon tank with many chips that seem to venture into and past the silicone, but no problems, in fact i grow out my fry in that tank. granted my grandma had it for about 15/20 years before she gave it to me, but it works just fine and i plan to use it until it explodes of natural causes!

I had a 30G that was chipped almost all the way through the glass. Never had a problem with it. My 500 has a chip in one of the side panels, but I'm not worried about it at all except for aesthetic purposes.

I purchased a used 48"L x 12"W x 12"H glass tank with a chip on the exterior corner. Still haven't set it up despite doing an interior reseal. The chip did not reach the interior of the tank.

My concern is that the chip is crumbling. Has anyone repaired this type of chip with an epoxy that dried relatively clear? I am looking for a repair suggestion that would be both structural and attractive.

BTW, the glass thickness is 5mm.

My 75 gallon has a decent sized chip in one of the corners, near the top. Maybe half the thickness of the glass. Bought it used, I don't know what happened.

I have a 90G with a chip in almost every corner. I was cleaning it because it was previosuly used as saltwater, only to find out that i was scraping the glass off while i was dragging it in the bathtub. So i got a chip in each corner, never had a problem, been up for three years. I just filled in the chip with silicone.

i had it on my 25g and one of my 120g seems fine.. but if in doubt give it a little smear of silicone

Good advice, I had a 120 with a major chunk out of the bottom corner, no problems but I would reseal as much as possible to prevent any issue.
