tiger dats

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
My indo dat, 10 secs after I put him in my 10g solitary tank when I 1st got it.
When I first took it out from the plastic bag, it was really dark brown, almost like a dark chocolate bar. :naughty:
In my experience, tigers can change their color as they like, and it takes only seconds.
hope it helps

I don't like that diagram.

Reason being, there are variants among these datnoids that may carry resemblance to two different species.

Maybe we should do a more comprehensive species chart.

the diagram is fine as the body stripes may be diffrent on the ST and IT but its the tail stripes that count

ST will always have the same tail stripes even if they have fork or y stripes
IT will always have the same tail stripes even if they look like a ST
AT will always have the same tail stripes and normal the same body stripes
NTT will always have the same tail stripes and normal the same body stripe
NGT will always have the same messy tail and body stripes

so if you go buy the tail stripes you cant normaly go wrong

its only ST and IT that some people have trouble with telling them apart

maybe its the most comen tiger in the US
That's my guess as well. Silver dats aren't sought after in Asia, so they get sent to the U.S. Otherwise, there doesn't seem to be any logical reason why they should be called AT. :screwy:

all but the silver datnoid are yellow.

BUT, one locale of the indonesian tigers are usually darker with the "ugly" color.

New Guinea tigers can also vary, as some will display nice yellow between bars while others won't.

hi there...could u describe more about the 'ugly' color?

pics are also welcome and helpful to differentiate between indo tigers and thai..

thx in advance

From what I've seen, NG Tigers are mostly goldy-green coloured with dark army green bars.
And when they are smaller, they have somewhat reddish tint in their head part above their eyes.
Does anyone know the maximum size of these NGTs?

Nice dats:drool: T1 now big is that tank???
