An oddball front?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well the thing is not all the fronts in my tank came from the same place, I got some six stripes at a small lfs in west palm for mad cheap b/c the normal guy wasnt there they hired a newbie who didnt know anything about African Cichlids so I asked for the fronts, he gave them to me for $4 o__o and I think they look nice, and they are normal. I have one weird one that I took out of my bf's batch and thats the one with the different stripes. In the end they will all end up in the same 180gal+ tank. Like I said I dont plan on breeding mine and if I did I wouldnt mix them anyways b/c we do have six stripes and seven stripe fronts that are not hybrids each coming from different places, if they started to look like they were going to breed then I would seprate each different type from the other. Just like my Peacocks I have a pair breeding now and I dont want it to cross breed with my other types of peacocks I like to keep them pure, as it also helps to bring out the colors and keep the good genes.

Now that you've clarified where and how you got the fronts it seems like you are doing the right thing and avoiding the "dark side" of the hobby  I saw your other threads about your new peacocks and was hoping that you were keeping them apart since thats the largest group of hybrids in the industry.

I plan on keeping my peacocks pure b/c they are pretty good looking peacocks and Id like to keep the kids that way 2 =)

it destorys biodiversity.

one day you won't be able to differentiate a dog from a cat.

or Ash from Jessica Simpson.

or chicken from fish.

;)

Maybe this would be a good time to start a new thread instead of "hijacking" the original one ;)
