I don't think the pumpkinseed is found there, for fish known in Texas check this list, better yet print it out and try to catch them all.

It could be even though longears are endangerd here but it is still to small to be sure.

well I got a green sunfish and he seems to be doing well in a tank with pencil fish, but he is only bout an inch and a half
