If that's a true rivulatus then what are the gold/white saums exactly? 
Or is that simply a wild caught specimen and we have mass captive bred ones?

I had a juvie female silver saum. She was beautiful, but kind of a problem child. There didn't seem to be major aggression issues between her and my 10" oscars, though I battled internal bacterial infection with her pretty much the entire time I had her (which wasn't that long; she finally gave up).
I cannot resist to post my male GT. It is about 8" TL or more.

Wow, that is a spectacular specimen, congrats. It may be worth it to build a GT tank. Do they get along with Firemouths?
Yes firemouths can be a great addition to a GT tank.....I believe for a GT to be truely at his best you need to house him in a situation where he is the boss. Mine is with 2 Tiger Oscars and a Ornate Bichir in a 110gallon and my GT rules the roost and never gets picked on. I strongly suggest that you keep them away from more powerful cichlids like RD'S,Trimacs,Jags etc... They just cant hang, but i believe the true GT probably could but Gold Saums like most of us have certainly cannot.........By the way awesome fish Polo....My male also has a brillant bright orange i just need to bust out my digital camera and gets some better pics. That first pic i took was from my phone lol....

Im not sure if they are less aggressive as they get larger. I saw an 8" one and he was a mean sucker. anyone that would get close to the tank would get a gill flare. It was sweet!! I saw this one at Rare Fish.. Wes's shop.

Here are my GT's, The first is my big female, the second is what I believe to be my small male.
Sorry for the blurry pics, I'm having problems in that tank..... and the small GT's fins are now orange (he needed some krill) and he's a lot bigger.

WOW. At first glance, the first pic looks like a male. The pointed dorsal fin suggests that, but the rounded anal fin and the shape of the head says otherwise.
