Pit Bulls... I hate IGNORANT PEOPLE...

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yea what a dumb ****...

I own 3 Rescued Pittys as i call them...

Couldnt be sweeter dogs. They get Royal Canine food (the BEST) availible here in St.Louis MO, i order 4 80lbs bags at a time. The white pitty i have has bad skin so he gets a whole 2 special bags himself called skin support. Alsways scratching and loves when i scratch for him. He even gets Fish oil pills in his food to help the dry skin.

Well the other 2 dont have the skin issues but still get just s much lovin. The 2 bigger pits have 2 separate kennels bc u never know what can happen at night. They love sleeping in them bc it makes them feel safe and confident. The Smaller of the 3 is her "baby" and sleeps with us ad he know if he ever bit me i bit back, that simple, And yes he has got me once when he was young and didnt know so i got him back, =D. He respects my space as im the Alfa in the pack and the other 2 know aswell.

Alfa Feeds, waters, and lets them play outside. Alfa plays rough too but when he says stop we all stop.

Understanding the Nature of any animals can be interesting and anything can ever happen so u have to be prepared for the worse. Now with Pits u have to realize almost nothing gets them out of the mind set of attack bite DO NOT LET GO. When i first had these dogs they were babies and they would pull and tug on eachother and i really had to grab them with fingers in the gums and on the teeth to get them to let go. If something were to happen now would i put my fingers in there HELL NO but would i pile on the two-three to keep them from tearing eachother apart, again HELL YES i would. I love these guys. They would be Dead like there siblings bc of teh Stupid Pet owner didnt know how to handle and care for them. They died at the early age of 2 months. Mine are now nearly 4 and about 50-90lbs.

What most Pit owners do not know is that the Dog was never a Huge dog but a Medium sized dog that is now bread with anything to make them larger stronger and more aggresive. I huge Pit bulls is nolonger a PitBull but a hybrid, Why...for fighting... recently there was a huge Pit Ring broken up here in the Midwest that saved a ton of dogs from their horrible lives. Some got to go to a new home. Mostly out of state owners that have to do Check ups and report on the health of the animal.

What most People in the world Do not know is that there are more Shepard, Chiwawa, weimaraner, etc etc etc... then Pit bull bites. Whats reported... Pitbulls, why because its Bad News and Bad News is News. Pitbulls unfortuneately do the most damage the quickest, again why... well its been bread into them. Again why u have to force them into submission as a Follower in YOUR pack. If u do not do this the dog WILL walk all over you. Im not afraid to smack a animal when its back. All my dogs know its bad to get into trouble yet they like to not listen and when the hand goes up they become orderly and alls well. (this almost never happens anymore).

Its kinda goes back to Dr. Spock "how to raise children" books. I dont care if it says not to smack a kids butt because hell it worked for me and oh man when dad said u wanna go to the bathroom u knew u ****ed up. Same case for Dogs. They are my Children.

So to follow all this up id like to add i love pit bulls and we only ever rescue pitbulls as i dont have a Huge house to rescue all dogs but the pits are the most misunderstood dogs out there. If you cant handle the truth...well... get over it as thats all i speak on this subject.

Thanks for your time. If there is more you'd like to add go ahead and Quote me.

i cant see the question but i love pits, i can honestly say that every pitbull i have ever met has been extremely sweet and not the least bit aggressive

Merritt Clifton, editor of Animal People, has conducted an unusually detailed study of dog bites from 1982 to the present. (Clifton, Dog attack deaths and maimings, U.S. & Canada, September 1982 to November 13, 2006; click here to read it.) The Clifton study show the number of serious canine-inflicted injuries by breed. The author's observations about the breeds and generally how to deal with the dangerous dog problem are enlightening.
According to the Clifton study, pit bulls, Rottweilers, Presa Canarios and their mixes are responsible for 74% of attacks that were included in the study, 68% of the attacks upon children, 82% of the attacks upon adults, 65% of the deaths, and 68% of the maimings. In more than two-thirds of the cases included in the study, the life-threatening or fatal attack was apparently the first known dangerous behavior by the animal in question. Clifton states:
If almost any other dog has a bad moment, someone may get bitten, but will not be maimed for life or killed, and the actuarial risk is accordingly reasonable. If a pit bull terrier or a Rottweiler has a bad moment, often someone is maimed or killed--and that has now created off-the-chart actuarial risk, for which the dogs as well as their victims are paying the price.
Clifton's opinions are as interesting as his statistics. For example, he says, "Pit bulls and Rottweilers are accordingly dogs who not only must be handled with special precautions, but also must be regulated with special requirements appropriate to the risk they may pose to the public and other animals, if they are to be kept at all."

..........what everyone should get from this is that the dogs themselves are not horrible awful beasts that should all be put down.
But that if any person wants to own one, that person should know what they have and take every necessary step to keep the worst from happening.
Sure, Chihuahuahs bite people all the time. But like the above highlighted text, a bite from a Chihuahua on a bad day is not even comparable to the bite of a Pit Bull or Rottweiler on a bad day. Dogs who's biting force could crush bone.

- information above is from the following site: http://www.dogbitelaw.com/PAGES/statistics.html

Here's one more good point from the site.

"There have been many news reports about deaths caused by dogs in the USA. The attention given to the homicides has put the spotlight on pit bulls and Rottweilers. There is a very good reason for focusing on these two breeds: in recent years, they have usually been the number one and number two canine killers of humans. (See below, The breeds most likely to kill.) It therefore is correct to single out those two breeds when talking about canine homicides, because those two breeds lately have caused half or more of the deaths -- a disgraceful statistic whether it is regarded as the fault of the dogs, their breeders, their owners, or all three. However, the focus on death cases may leave the public with the false impression that pit bulls and Rottweilers are responsible for the dog bite epidemic. It is a much broader problem than that, involving all dogs and all dog owners. While pit bulls and Rottweilers inflict a disproportionate number of serious and even fatal injuries, the dog bite epidemic involves many different breeds, and results from many different causes. A clear distinction needs to be made between canine homicides (i.e., incidents in which dogs kill people) and the dog bite epidemic."

And with that, i'm done.

Pit Bulls are nice dogs. But in the wrong hands whether they be naive, ignorant, or just plain bad, Pit Bulls as well as other powerful breeds can be deadly.
Kind of like guns.

good info and very true. i got bit by a chihuahua when i was like 10 and remember kicking it like a football haahhaaa!

The case i brought to the table with other dogs biting is that it happens just may not hear about it. Some cases causing quite a bit of damage but most not much at all.

Again why i would pile on my dog(s) if they bit or fought with themselves to keep them from hurting themselves or anyone else. I.e. Kicking the chiwawa get him to stop biting, but then again u can cause seriuos damage to the dog if kicked. Should a Dog be put down after one kill if a whale is allowed to kill multiple yet the show must go on... (there are plenty of details i left out on that one)... I think that owning animals is not a right but a privilege. If you can not pass the test u cant own one becuase you are not fit. Now may this cause an uprising in the people... maybe, but we can unsure the animals fate will not lead to a horrible life, over bread for puppy mills, fighting etc. This will help keep the Strays down for sure and if caught with one weather the breed you will be fined heavily or jail time. This raises a question about pit rings. There are now much larger sentencings on people caught watching these as before it wasnt a crime to watch but only if u had them in possession of the dog, so the Fight would be in a 4'-6' deep pit with standing room to watch and noone ever had to touch the animals. So we changed it to the watching. Lets ban the People from the dogs not the dogs from the people.

Original question was
"Who hates pit bulls? I dont care if it's the owner's fault, who thinks they should be outlawed?"
