u have 11 datnoids in a 60? how big are they? are they doing okay?

yeah 8 watts i would go with the wipper because you can clean it every month without taking it off. just be careful when you pull it (slowly) coz it's glass. i have a 25w on my 180 gal tank. reason for going bigger is that my flow rate is high.:)

Agreed.

i just ordered a 9 watt uv sterilizer and sadly it doesnt have a wiper..well any ways it says theres to ways for me to set it up..either in-line or hang-on..i was wondering which is better and more effective..i have an emp400 and a fluval 304 runnin in my 60..and also BTW...after the algae bloom is all gone..can i take the uv sterilizer down or is it manditory for me to keep it up? and if i take it down..is the bloom just gonna come back? thnx in advanced

I would use it after filtration on your Fluval 304. If your water becomes clear and you take it out I would say that the algae bloom might come back, i'm not pretty sure. is the tank near the window? I would suggest to keep it their and use it, besided you bought it already, not only does it kill free floating bacteria it also prevents some outbreaks on other disease. UV sterilizer kills all free floating bacteria and other organisms that maybe harmful to your fish and tank.

I have 11 datnoids, 3 of them are 3 inches the rest are around 4-5 and growing fast. it is bare bottom and running on a sponge filter and xp3. don't have any problem. i will transfer them to the 180 after it gets fully cycled. (but i'm thinking of selling them soon):D
