smelly tank on the side of the road!

hey all! Today the hubby and I were drivin down the road, and spot a 10 g tank. So, naturally being the fish lovers that we are, we stop and pick it up. Figured we would use it to keep our feeders in, or maybe go buy a salamander or a newt to put in it. We get it home, and lemme tell ya, it smells to high hell.....almost like a skunk sprayed it or something. So, I sit outside and scrub the hell outta it with some bathroom cleaner and some antibacterial soap, and it still smells. Any suggestions on how to get this nasty azz smell outta this tank?!?:confused:
 
since your from columbus, go to petsmart on stringtown road and get you a brand new 10 gallon tank for like 8.99. better than cleaning the thing out. because its also safer because you never know what might have been in there.
 
Yeah, I know I can go around the corner (kinda big corner that is, seeing how I live in Bexley) and get one cheap, but I couldnt pass up a FREE tank! Maybe if I use some vinagar or maybe some bleach. BTW, I think frogs were kept in the tank because it was written in crayon on the tank in big blue letters FROGS! lol. I got that off the tank, and it looks great, except for the smell:(

Yes bleach that should do the trick.. When i was still slow at keeping good care of my tanks i bleached the rocks in the tub and vualla:) then i used decolrinator and everything ran smooth:) Plus you could buy 8 bottles of bleach to one 8.99 tank:) so worth a try if you ask me:)

DUDE!!!! You got a 150 on the side of the road?!?! No flippin way!!!!!!!! TOO COOL! So far I have gotten a 30g 10g hex and now this 10 g if I can get the smell outta it for free....sweet deals but not as sweet as your 150:eek:

My belly is so filled with HATE right now. lol :j/k: WoW. Insane pickup. I am still gonna pay like 600$ for mine. As tongue said, "LLLLLUUUCCKKKKYYYY!"
