  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yup, it's pretty tiny. lol Also, can some one answer the last three questions in the last post I made, and this one: Could I keep a peacock eel instead of one of the Rope fish. Thanks for the help. The questions are these, what do I decorate it with and how can I get it, Could I keep a GT in there and what all could I house in the tank, and what filtration do I need? One last thing, How would I cycle a tank that large? Thanks for all the help to a newbie getting a tank.

Sincerely,

If it's large rocks add support underneath , I have heard egg crate as it will help distritbute the pressure form one point to several. No experience but this is what i've read :) If it's plants i have Devil's ivy hanging in zip ties to the top inside of my tank :)
Sand is good but poop gatthers around your orniments and some beleive it is unsightly. Gravel can trap it and cause algae build up of the not so pretty kind :) Most of which can be found anywhere from the rock quarry to the river or lfs. Palnts are readily available at most stores.

I would go wet/dry more bang for the buck and is right at the top when it comes to quality of filtration :) Plus even on Store bought you really only need to replace the bio media and the pump. If the pump goes out.. everything else is pretty much stable.

You can keep a few different things in there. The GT you could house for life :) the Pacus as you know you will likely either get rid of at some point, you could house You could have a Arowanas for a while before having to upgrade to a much larger tank as the pacus. Catfish. I ahve never seen a peacock eel but if it is not going to be 16" to 20" in time for the larger fish to eat it i would say use your judgement :)

I cycled mine with all the water from my 55 adn all the substrate and filter media and filters form this tank too.. If i were to do it again i would not put my favorite fish in(they all lived) :) I would through a Convict or two in with all of the stuff i stated..

Hope i was of some help:)
