Probably both with the latter making a bigger difference.

And note that the title of this thread is an underestimation. The people were not watched and didn't even really believe they were. It was just some pic on the wall that made them pay 2.76 times more.
Already the size of the image would make a big difference.

It would be interesting to know how one can apply these sorts of findings on MFK to maximise upon honourable and altruistic behaviour. LOL
 
heh that's interesting...In a couple of hours I'm turning in a research paper on architecture and violence and I talk a lot about panopticism.
