whats the signs on the female indicating that she has eggs in her belly?? wil she release the eggs ultimately??

Why did you start a new account? Forget your password? LoL.

She will do the 'C' shaped swim infront of the male. There will be twitchin by both pikes, they will get more aggressive, clean a spawning site...general cichlid behavior. A lot of people have gotten Lugubris pikes close to breedin and then never get them too. Ultimately she will just ingest or digest the eggs before she lays them if she never does. Just cuz she has eggs and is ready to spawn doesn't mean she will...:(

my female pike has been dashing with the male 1 or 2 times a day, catch the feeders together i dont understand whats C-Shaped swmming but they starting to chase smaller size tankmates around, but my 12 incher siamese tiger is in control of the whole tank.

Sometimes the female will swim next to her spouse with the mouth open in split secs not sure what does this indicates.

Hold up, I'll find you some pictures...;). Mouth open and thrashing each other with their body isn't really a breeding behavior...its aggression...;). Are you SURE they are a pair? Male and Female? Confirmed? Pictures will def. help confirm it! :D

they didnt bite each other, yea the female dorsal fin is white in color and red belly while the male doesnt have those signs, sometimes the female will catch the feeders for the male to eat :)

Keep up the work and hopefully it will happen.

Try different conditions like P said. Pikes are said to spawn during the rainy season (more space to move around) which means cooler water, lower ph and frequent water changes (clean water). Might also try lower light if its too bright. Rainy season also kicks up more dirt so the water becomes very dark.
