Could I use a plastic flower pot instead of a clay pot. I ask because I have a plastic pot avalible for use

i would think it's ok as long as it doesn't float and is washed thoroughly with non-toxic agents

Hey every body. I just picked up a rose queen from the LFS 2 days ago and was wondering if anyone could help. He is in a 55 gallon aquarium and he keeps on digging. the other day he was digging and he made the rock collapse that I had stacked. I removed alot of tthe lace rock and there are now alot of open spaces. I was wondering what to use as cover that would be alot safer. I was thinking about using large PVC pipe for him to hide in becase he seems to like caves. Any ideas are very appreciated.

your first mistake was having the rocks above the substrate which allowed the fish to topple it by digging around in the substrate

next time create the structure, and then add the substrate, that way even if he digs around he wont topple it since it already on the bottom of the tank.

damn i hate not being able to explain things without the words i want to say

i dont even think i said that right ^

its plastic

of coarse its going to float

and you dont need to wash it with non- toxic chemical agents

just rinse it well with tap water and throw on a rock to anchor it down

that's what i meant...
