My BGK disappeared!!!

:( The only good news then I guess is that my boyfriend said I had a $200 limit for my birthday present... I'm getting a 55 with some of it, and then I can get another one and I'll put him in the other, much more calm tank with baby laid back angels... and I'll add LOTS of pipes and places to hide. Poor thing... :( He was adorable too!
 
Okay I would like to double check with the experts here before I make another mistake resulting in the loss of another BGK. I'm going to get another young one. I'm planning on putting it in a 20 gallon with a pair of pineapple swordtails, four penny sized angel fish, and a pair of quarter sized angelfish. The last two are so laidback that I have to keep them in the 20 because the other angels I have of similar size beat them up whenever they can. Infact, one of them doesnt even have a lower fin because it got ripped off two months ago. The only other thing in the tank is an algae eater and live plants and black sand. I'll get some pipes for it to hide in before I bring it home. Will it get eaten, harrassed, or be miserable in any way?? I do NOT want to mess this up again. I thought it was safe last time and I was (well, IT was dead) dead wrong. I'm covering my bases this time.

**edited to add... I'm only planning to keep it in the 20 until it gets big enough to hold its own with the other fish.
 
it will be fine just dont put another 15 inch bicher in with it
 
a bichir had to eat it if it was 3"
 
The ornate ate it...during the evening or when it was very hungry. Predatory fish only get along when they are well fed. If they are starving, they will eat their tankmates that will fit in their mouth. Sorry for the loss, I can totally relate. I bought a nice scarlet pleco, and it disappeared, but this one jumped out of the tank , where the overflow to the wet and dry filter goes. :( :cry: :cry:
 
Okay the new ones home. And living (so far) happily in the 20 with the young angels. He had a nice big dinner of frozen brine shrimp. I bought a little pipe for him to hide in but he's still out exploring. Awesome fish :) I think he might be a little bit smaller than the other one.
 
my guess is hidding. I have had mine crawl into spaces of decorations that I didn't think anything would fit. days later, I'm like screw it... remove from tank the decorations.. then I hear noises. damn thing found a way in and got stuck....then I have to break the ornament. so I now only get solid pieces, or epoxy plastic plants over openings...
