I've been going through the task of moving all my fish to the new place I got. Today was the day for the pirahnas. After filling a couple of 5 gal buckets I managed to net my rhom. As I put him in a bucket of water and he gets out of the net he turns right around and seems to be looking at me right in the eye. I was thinking to myself "hmm, thats weird I expected him to dart to the bottom". But instead he jumps right out of the bucket straight towards my face and i julted back. He landed about three feet away from the bucket, scared the hell out of me. So I catch him again with another net (he chewed a hole right through the first one) and attempted to put him in the bucket again only on a different side with a little more distance between us. He does the same thing, he looks right at me and jumps at me. Finally I got 'smart' and put the lid loosly on the bucket while he freed himself from the net. But man did I gain a lot of respect for those fish, if I hadn't been paying attention I would've had a chunk out of my nose!

Thats the coolest Pirhana i've ever heard of!! I'm jealous!!! You must be proud!:D I love it when one in a billion shows up to trully bring the fear to life!! Oh man you are so lucky!!! Don't get rid of him... His new name is man eater!!!! Dude thats so cool and funny tooo!!! I would have been bit for laughin as hard as i am!! Oh I'm Crying !!!!! LOL THanks !!!

Thats a keeper!!

Thats hilarious!!! Got any pics of him?

I hate to break it to you but you guys are giving fish too much credit. There is now way a fish has the brain power to think, " Oh theres that bastard I want to kill him! Now I just have to jump out of this bucket to get him!" More then likely the fish was using a natural response to jump out of a confined body of water in hopes of getting to a larger one.

Awe shucks; you have to take all the fun out of it don't you.

When you see the teeth soaring to your face, you don't have time for logical thoughts. it's fight or flight time. You will likely think he is after you.

When you watch a movie, the monsters are not actually after you, but dang I have jumped out of my seat at the theatre. :WHOA:

LoL sorry but I do know what you mean. My 8" S. Mac will relentlessly attack anyone through the glass that walks by his tank and its fun to say that the fish is just out to kill!

Actually now that I think about it I guess he does as he seems to be defending his turf!

You are so wrong, this one time, at band camp, i was standing on the dock, looking in the water, and this huge piranha jumped up and latched onto my nose, i stood up and screamed right into the camera, it took me hours to get that thing off me
