What is this green stuff and how do you stop it from growing?

Are those real plants in the tank?

Is the tank in the sunlight or brightly lit?

Does it scrape off with a sponge or razor blade?

How thick is it ?

If you scrape it off, you need to run a siphon hose right beside the scraper to collect the algae or you just re-seeded the tank.

Get a pleco and a couple of chinese algae eaters.

Cover the tank completely, keeps lights off, and feed fish less for 3-4 days. this should help kill the algae. Then clean & vacuum tank.

I hesitate to suggest chemical means, and if those are real plants you shouldn't.

What do you suggest its hard and its only a 3.7gallon with 2 13w 6700k bulbs

Il try the no light suggestion.

keep the light to the tank off as much as possible and buy you a little otinoclous (spelling) catfish they are good for removing algae.

"rosey barbs and florida flag fish also eat the algae" - The tanks too small, he posted it was 3.7 gallons ;)

Sorry I cant see the picture, but otocinclus cats might work as suggested. Chinese algae eaters wont help and will probably wreck your tank. Some amano shrimps may help.
