so im setting up this betta bowl for my boss' office.
i wanted to do something a little different.
i picked up a pretty cool glass cylinder shaped bottle thing.
im using river rocks for substrate.

i was planning on doing just a betta with maybe 2 ghost shrimp but i was thing about dwarf groumi or paradise fish.
i know they can breath from the surface as well.
i was hoping to get a easy to care for fish w/o filtration.
will have a few plants in there though.

any ideas? or should i just stick with the ol male betta thing
perhaps 2 female bettas?

How big is the bowl? Drawf gouramis and paradise fish need alot of room. If the tank is big enough I would put some neons in there just be sure to do alot of water changes.

i would say probably 2.5 US gallons.

her office sort of has a western theme.
i was thinking about like getting an old cowboy boot, cutting a hole in the side and somehow put the aquarium in it.

idk. just ideas right now

You are hitting on your boss with a betta vase :naughty:

Seriously, the container is too small for anything but a betta. Gouramis require a heated tank, neons want filtration. And to be honest, a small cylindric tank is not the most humane thing for fish because of optical distortion. Maybe you should invite her over to your place, show her your MONSTER tank and maybe she will have you set up a 20 gal in her office.

just stick with a single male betta and nothing else. there is nothing else prettier that can survive in such a small bowl

If you want to do something different get a fancy betta like a metallic red dragon halfmoon
