I thought it was some kind of hybrid at first, but now I think it a spotted sunfish with a color pattern that I have never seen before. Its living in the lab right now while I make tank space.

i would like to see pics of it after it adjusts to your tank.... that is a sunnie i have never seen before

Could be breeding colors. I have kepth them before and they never colored up like that before. I have to check on the fish soon to see if its making it, getting caught in a gill net can be traumatic.
