Im goin to get a 29 gallon and i was wondering if i can have redbelly pirahna in it. IF so how many? Could u also tell me any info i was thinking of getting frozen unpeeled shrimmp unthawing it and peeling them is tht alright? please i need help this si my first pirhana.

i have only one rbp in a 29gand he is fine, but still only 4-5in. the only concern i have is the space issue with more than one, they might fight alot cause they feel crowded. and as they get about a foot each 29g is not big enough for even one(mine is goin in a 90g at end of year). if you have never had rbp's before let me warn u these fish are not very active and for the most part very skiddish. even though i wouldnt trade mine for the world!

I understand that the prices of aquariums can be... very high. But Personally I think that if your able to wait a little longer and save some more money, try to see if you can find someone selling a larger setup maybe in your classified section of your local newspaper or whatever. You can normally buy a second hand setup for a fraction of the price if you purchased it brand new. RB Piranhas are only really "impressive" in a group of 3 - 5, in which case you should be aiming at a 75 - 100 Gallon tank. Piranhas are a special fish which will earn you many compliments if you do it setup correctly. So make sure that your serious about wanting to own one / a few and do it right, it's a larger investment, but you'll be happier in the long run.

:iagree:
You should try a smaller Piranha. Get a Serra, because some of them will only get about 6". IMO... I would really do alot of reading before you start buying a fish/tank/equipment. Good luck!
