The dog faced puffer the same one in the video lounge. The one thats puffed up.A yellow tang and snowflake eel.I think i should do this one like the one the trust posted in the photo lounge but saltwater.

Not planning on it.It would kill the bacteria and micro organisams living in it theres living sand in the tank im planning on it spreading to the filter. But you can buy an adapter that you can twist the pvc apart or maybey spay it out.
over time it will plug up reducing the flow of your powerheads and possibly damaging it. Also the biomedia will plug up reducing its effectiveness.

I think it was a very good idea

How much volume does the filter contain?
A regular pump would probably keep the pressure better than a powerhead.

Its got a very good flow rate doesnt even slow down this filter can stand up too.But its possible it could clog for freshwater i have living sand for me probably self cleaning. This is reverse flow you could use a prefilter spunge on it too.I thought it could be sprayed out with the water hose but again this will just kill the bacteria population.I recommend buying an adapter that is threaded that is 3 and 1 half but it may have too be down converted to a different size if worst come to worst ill take the hacksaw to it and put a new end on it. About the volume not sure the exact but its pretty good size for a big tank could possibly use a bigger pipe.

I run an air pump into the air intake on the powerhaed this in my opionion is a masive bio skimmer and wet/dry all in one.Theres got to be some serius gas exchange happaning .This will feed the bacteria.Youll have to look over the algea it grows like wild fire need a sterilizer.

Is this salt?

Are you using the HOB also?

I've been running several simular systems for about a year now but for fresh water.

How long did yours take to cycle?

I cut it open to put a new end on it and it was living just like live sand full a micro organism like a chainsaw.I went and got some threaded ends here it is with the threaded end on it so it can be opened. I changed the media from lava rock to live crushed coral carribsea .I think the cycle time for a saltwater tank is two weeks i rushed it and some of my fish died this tank has been setup for about two years.Let me correct myself this is a 3 inch pipe
