NEW to MFK..many questions!!!

Im new on here , its my first fish site i go to and i love it...I been looking at this site almost all day and night....My girl gets mad because im online all the time,,, Theres so many beautiful tanks salt and fresh water...lots of great ideas too...well to start of i have a 55 gallon tank with my oscar and three spotted cat fish..I just bought a 200 gallon tank at craighslist for cheap..I am going to transfer my fish to the other tank..I want to know what other fish are tank buddies with mine..I want to put more oscars and the ones i saw at petshop are half the size of mine or small ones...Will the mediums one be ok they are not small enough to fit in his mouth but will he pick at them??? Also im new to wet/dry filters and refugiums only dealt with HOB filters...what would be better for my tank? i want to have some space in my sump/refugium for spare feeder fish...I have a spare 55 gallon tank i can use because ibut wont fit under my stand..its too high so i want to built one of acrylic....seen so many of them cant decide whats best for mine and some one said the bigger the better..is that right?? At the moment im getting some materials for a 3d backgroung..and couldnt decide what to do with my tank bacause it has like a mirror backgroung its peeling off in some spots so i have to removeit or put the 3D.Im also restaining the tank because it needed some work i reinforced the stand put some new board in the bottom because the old one was warpped and mocked one side of the stand so i can slide in a sump...well heres my current set up its old and want to upgrade asap..also my uncle gacve me a cainister filter he had the propeller is brocken and its missing a tab..but it works i put some tape on the propeller to test it it ran for about 15 minutes before it gave out again.. its a proquatics 2400 ...is it worth buying the missing/broken parts?? i can use it for my turtle tank if it is..hers some pictures of the current tank..Dont mind the boys its my son he wanted to be in every picture..also theres pictures of the new/used tank im staining the stand thats the color its going to be...like i said im new here and would like your opinions..positive or negative....I can handle it....:) sorry for spelling and pics some are blurry!!!

nice tank and that a lot of text i would sell the oscar and buy a couple of small ones to start fresh
 
That is a big oscar! You could use the 55g as a grow out for the others ... ? I would try a new part on the canister, they are cheap. If it doesn't work, it won't be a huge deal.

I was thinking that too start off new but then i realized thats why i got the big tank for my oscar..im kind of attached to him.....

what do you mean as a grow out tank ..?? put some in there until they are bigger then to the big tank??. and about the canister i will buy the proppeller i saw it for about 12 bucks and like 5 bucks for the clip...its not bad.. thanks..

yes, a grow out tank is a temp tank for fish to grow in before you transfer them to their permanent home.
 
Well I have good news bad news...my oscar died I had him or her forabout 4.5 years I think well that's the bad new the good news I have choices now for my 200 gallon tank maybe some more oscars 4 will be ok??? Well moved my turtle inside my home now now my xtra spare tank will serve as a sump..maybe
