A couple pics from my personal collection

How big is that leucy alli snapper? I have never seen one get passed about 8 inches SCL, and I would love to see a big one. That ones not too big, but I hope you have better luck with him than some other people. They seem to just die for absolutely no reason. My buddy just lost one a few months back, while the remaining 9 of his are fine, all normals.

Nice FRTs too.

Thanks for the reply. Yes, for whatever reason almost all of the leucistic ASTs I've talked to anyone about have died around that size out of the blue. I'm crossing my fingers with this one. As far as larger leucies go, I had a 45lb female a few years back who was definitely hypo but no where near as fantastic as the one I posted a pic of.

Here's a pic of my adult male AST from over the winter. He's about 90lbs now.

Nice collections. I dont know if this is the case with AST's but leucism has been linked with gene changes that cause kidney failure, liver failure and a generally weak immune system in other species. They are saying it has something to do with the production of D3. Maybe you could try supplementing it in his diet- it couldn't hurt anyways.

im looking into getting my 1st tortoise and im really jealous of your collection. those aladabras are siiiiick.

Interesting theory, and you're right, never hurts to try!
