NEW Acrylic tank build

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Seeing this has video build idea has made me feel like looking into building my own 300 gallon or 500 gallon fish tank. What thickness of acrylic would I need to use for a fish tank that is three feet deep and four to five feet wide and eight to ten feet long? Also would you have any idea how much some of these sheets would cost from this company?

1.25-1.5" for a tank that size. (36" tall, 120" long) No idea how much a sheet that size would cost. I do know a 12mm cell cast sheet costs $385 (100"x51")

nice video's
thanks for putting them together for us.

No problem, thanks for watching.

If that's the cost of it I might try and build something that is 24 inches deep to keep costs down. But that $385 does sound tempting in that for a bran new 300 gallon glass tank in my area they want $1400 dollars.

Would you be able to link up to arylic sheets side to side such as if you took a 51 inch wide 100 inch long sheet and used this very same glue to link it up to another 51 inch wide 100 inch long sheet?

I think I will post some drawing ideas on a fish tank idea using 12mm here to ask some more questions about it.
