This is my 90 gallon tank. It WAS very nicely aquascaped for a minute, but as soon as it started looking nice these two decided to spawn and redocorate everything, and now that they have fry in the tank I don't want to mess with decor. This video was taken about five minutes after a big WC, so it's a bit cloudy, and the WC put them "in the mood" so you will see a bit of aggression between them. 99.9% of the time they are an extremely bonded and gentle pair.

Enjoy! :)

They look really nice and i dont see any aggression between them. congrats on the spawn too:)

Heh, you didn't see the female bite the male on his right side a little less than half way through the video? I started shooting video because they were doing that. They lip locked right before I started taking video. It's all flirtation, exactly how they behaved before they spawned this batch of fry.

Great video Jeff! Glad you were finally able to get them over to their new tank.

Thanks bro. I need some big rocks and to finish the aquascape.

Great looking pair and tank! Good luck with the fry.

Thanks. Fry are doing well, getting frozen baby brine shrimp a few times a day and 50% water changes every other day or more. Frozen brine seems to be working well, I've never used it before but the fry eat it and they are growing quickly. It's a lot easier than hatching brine, just popping a cube out of the blister pack, defrosting it in tank water, and shooting it in with a turkey baster. I'm sure it's not as nutritious as live fresh brine, but it seems to get the job done.

Beautiful pair! How big is the male?

I actually couldn't tell you exactly. I don't measure my fish--just stresses them out and I really don't care. It's a four foot tank for size reference. They're both adults, they probably aren't growing much more. It's a slow growing species as well. If I had to guess, maybe around 10" give or take? He's pretty big, haven't seen any other males significantly bigger than him anywhere online.
