hey, i have a 180 gallon tank that im planing to put some silver arowanas in.. i used to have african cichlids in but put them in a smaller tank to make room forn the aros.. i was using a fluval 303 for the africans cichlids but relized that the 180 was getting quite dirty with it but is doing fine with the smaller tank (100 g). does anyone have any recamondations to filter a 180g tank for 2 aros with about a $150ish limit for the filter/s??? (sorry if i spelled anything wrong ive been out on a fishing trip for the last 3 weeks and just got home so brains not works as well as normal).
thank,

Eheim 2262 or 2260 way before the buying the Fluval. It bit more pricey. BigAlsonline has the 2262 I thin for $479.00. You will be pleased with the Fluval but it is definitely a ste down to the Eheim. Check my signature.

Budget $150 , recommended by others an FX5 for $229. Pretty close; only $79 off budget.

Wow budget $150, recommended $479. Not very good; $329 off budget. Thats a whole FX5 filter more and a heater to boot.

I have to agree with the others with the price/budget of $150, spend just a little bit more and the FX5 is your best choice.

The best option would be a self made sump or get two of the new sunsun's 403b. Or you could do a combination of a sump/sunsun filter and could still come in 150 or so.

thanks guys for all ur ideas, i think im just going to wait until my next pay cheak to get an fx 5 and then maybe get an sun sun for extra filtration
