Hey all anybody have any experiance with roseline sharks? As far as growth rate and size and temperment. I have read they can grow to 7 inches? Thinking of getting a small shoal for my 85.

They enhance any tank. They are not fast growers and do not appear aggressive. My friend has about 7 or 8 in the 4 to 7 inch range.

As noted above, they are peaceful and max out at about 7". 5.5 is much more likely though. Very Ph sensative so adjust them slowly. Often pricey, so don't put them with mroe aggressive fish.

I currently have 3 of them and they are awesome. Their vibrant red and yellow color didn't come in until they were about 3" long (they are about 4" or 5" now). I started out with 6 of them and the 3 that I still have seemed to bully the weakest ones to death. Really ticked me off cuz I paid $15 each! It was very strange because I thought they were peaceful community fish. In any case, their violent tedencies have disappeared and they are now living peacefully with an Angel, clown loaches, some Congos and some Madagascar Rainbows in a 70G.

i had 4 and they completly harrassased my clown loaches. couldnt stand it so the roselines went back to the store. they were ok w/ pretty much else and i dont think they hurt the loaches but it bothered me watch them so i no it bothered the CL's

Wow wouldn't think they would bother the clown loaches as I have seen them kept with African mbuna cichlids. Clown loaches have a razor sharp bone behind the eye that is an awesome defense. Net one and look behinfd the eye and you will see what I speak of.

Clown loaches have the subocular spines (I've been cut more than once netting big ones) but they aren't the best for defense.

I had a group of six wild caught denisonii, I found them to be sensitive to water quality/changes but they're gorgeous fish. My group harassed smaller fish.

ya i dont think they hurt the CLs but i know if i had someone badgering me all day id be pissed lol so they hadta go

It was your damn photos that got me hooked on this fish! I'm planning to get a larger group so I'm just testing the waters before I take the plunge.I have a large Koi pond outside that also has goldfish in it, and I can tell you that the Koi are much more sensitive to water quality, oxygen levels, etc. than the goldfish are by far,but it is by no means hard to keep them all happy and flourishing.
