Can big and small gibby's live together?I have an adult in my 55 wich soon will have no knifefish in it.
I don't know much about plecos, I just keep common plecos around to eat algae/scavenge
but recently have become quite fond of the gibby.

So once i move the knife out, if i put some 2-3 in babies in my 55 with the adult, would they be in danger? or can adults and small children coexist in this species?

thanks

I also have one growing out in a friends tank that is about 4-5 in, I have seen plecos display and try to dominate eachother,
so basically what do i have to watch out for here? can they reasonably coexist or do they form tribes and dominate eachother in a one on one setting like cichlids or something?

Uhh first off, what size is the adult pleco. I had a 7 incher that was really aggresive to other pleco's, but also towards any other fish as well

They should be fine but like cichlids you never know. Any damage will come on at night. Watchout for torn dorsal fins and make sure the smaller ones have a place to retreat such as a cave.

Ya, you won't see any aggresion, the only way I knew it was happening was if I stayed in my room at night with the light on, but the tank light would be off, after a while I would see mine just constantly chase around the other fish, especially my gold nugget pleco, luckily I had a cave that was too small for the big guy, but perfect for my gold nugget

An Adult gibby is 20inches so I'm sure yours isn't done growing. You may need to upgrade the tank once he reaches 12 inches. Due to the size difference there will be a pecking order. Where the smaller one may get chased. It could vary from a little to alot. If it's a little it may may ok but the smaller one may not eat much, so watch closely.
