plastidip sealing a plywood tank?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
You just have to make sure it is non toxic.

Good gravy! Even if it is non-toxic, I think it would be very expensive. Does it bond to wood, because I've only ever used it on metal.

i am in contact with the owner of the company.. and he says it should be alright to make a complete tank with it as long as the dip is 48 hours dry. with a few coats of dip.

i will be making a prototype tank before doing a full scale build.

Let us know how it goes, would be interested to know the total cost of using the product as opposed to pond armor, etc...

It does say "n-Hexane is toxic to aquatic life". But its thought to mostly be in the air then dissolved to a non harmful state. I'd be worried if it will eventually leach into the water. I'd like to see your test build...

hexane, and the other solvents in the mix, will evaporate cleanly into the air during the drying/curing process of the product. n-hexane is similar to the stuff they use to extract oils from organic sources for cooking etc.... The only purpose of the solvents is to keep the product in a liquid form.
