Pearsei; How gentle of a gaint?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah... I have two of them in with a few other cichlids and some rainbows. They are pretty passive, aside from a brief bucking here and there, as cichlids are known to do. They are not all that different in behavior to oscars, if you ask me.

all of them would chase the dollars from time to time(just something to do i guess)
Thanks Buddha,
I guess that wouldnt really change the current dynamics of the tank then. Just would end up with a fish that would grow up bigger than my runt of a Midas.

Thanks Rich,
Ive had Oscars and can honestly say my current Midas is about as mellow as most Oscars Ive owned. His personality is not bad, he just did not attain monster sized status.

Well from the sounds of it replacing my "peaceful" Midas with a Pearsei may not really change the dynamics of the tank. I might just add a Pearsei to the mix in the 210g and see how it turns out.

Thanks for the pic, Buddha

Just teasing me, so that I go out and get one?

Actually Ive been in touch with another member here who has been raising five of these guys in a 180g trying for a pair. He has offered to let me get one off him. I will take him up on his offer pretty soon. Should be interesting to see how my Midas deals with a fish in his size category. All the other tankmates have been smaller and he totally ignores them.
