After quite a bit of searching, I finally managed to get myself a nice healthy looking silver aro. I observed him at the LFS for a couple of days to see that there no signs of sickness, and to see that it was feeding properly. I bought it and added it to my "community" tank. It's now day 2, and although he is swimming around fine and getting along with the other tankmates, I still haven't seen him eat yet. I read the info posted here:

I am currently feeding them, bloodworms & prawn meat, both with GarlicPower
At the LFS, he was being fed plain bloodworms

My other fish a quite aggressive/active during feeding time, and my Aro seems like quite a gentle fish. Could the other fishes eating habits be holding him back?

I am also currently looking to remove some fish from my tank, so that might help, IF this is the problem. Any other suggestions would be welcome :)

Thanks

What size tank, what tankmates? Aros can be very skittish and nervous at first. Give him some time. If he was eating at lfs then he should come around when ready.

I had real good luck keeping my aro alone in its own tank, getting him to eat and get him used to habbit, and the adding him to community. Thats .02 though

If your oscar ate him, he wasn't a juvi. Unless you have a mutant monster oscar. You can't put a baby aro with an oscar. He will relentlessly assert his dominance untill the aro dies. Oscar would need to be much smaller. Even then the aro may eat the oscar. I've seen one get eaten by an aro because they were going for the same pellet. When you have a mouth like a garage door things get eaten by mistake.
