it just started eating pellets after watching the other 2 eating some. i have started to target feed with a long grabber when i feed with shrimp to help cut down on the obesity of the 22" florida.

thanx, all my gar converted easy. if you continue to have problems try using a grabber with live food in its tongs till your gar gets used to it. then just sub out the live food for dead food(eg if it is eatting goldfish live put a dead one on the grabber.) then just swap out other foods after that. gl

thanx, it has been feed live food all it's life and the original owner never saw it eat. i saw it eat the first day i got it i gave it some goldfish to get it going. then it just took some shrimp off my grabber randomly and then the pellets it is a big load off my back!
