large mouth bass help

i recently caught a baby 1.5 in LMB and i threw him in a little 20 gallon tank for now and his black stripe disapeared its a grayish now why is that
 
hes stressed....did you acclimate him?....was the tank cycled? ....what do you plan to upgrade him in to..they get big and need cooler water.

k than i would say stress.give him time to settle in.
 
bluegill are nice, just about any native sunfish would be a nice addition. make sure they are big enough to not get eaten by the LMB.

how bout a picture of the new LMB as well as the others?
 
if he is over lighter colored gravel they tend to fade alot too. For your info, a 1.5" largemouth is most certainly illegal. Not judging, but you may want to limit your posts about it. I was visited by the local game warden for my thread about trading natives. This is my first post since then.

I'm guessing all his fish are illegal, since its illegal to take any fish from the wild alive in California. But unfortunately the majority of people on this website seem to side with the person breaking the law.
