Best way to transfer my peacock bass?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they should be fine, give them a day and im sure they will be good to go. Waiting for pics :)

So here a shot of my 20 gallon next to the 125. Sorry the laptop's in the way. The 20 isn't much to look at yet, just the QT tank.

Then I have a pic of my 125, and the orino and mono hanging out.

Yeah I'd just catch them and drop them in too.... That's how I move the fish around in my tanks. pH is practically the same, temp practically same or like you said 1 degree off maybe which isn't going to effect anything, nitrates below 20ppm so yeah... I don't see what could shock them. Btw that's a real nice lookin' 125g. :)

that is 1 great looking tank to house your pbass,,,.....loving it!

Haha thank you very much! They're starting to come out and not be so skittish so maybe I can get a feeding video. Or maybe even just a swimming video. They look so small in the 125!

Ok, so go catch the fish and place them in the 125....simple as that.

For anyone reading this thread, this is VERY BAD ADVICE. Yes sometimes you can move them over and they are fine but sometimes they aren't. Juvenile cichla shock very easily. If they go into shock from a move they will almost always die. It's not worth the risk.

The best way I've learned to do it is put them in a bucket or box of their own tank water, about 25% full.
Then fill it up almost full with water from the new tank using a length of air line.
Use a clothes peg to slow the flow so it takes up to an hour.
Then you can safely net them and put them in the new tank.
