I dont like them. People just think if they could do something and not if the should. Leave nature alone and stop messin **** up.

Seriously? LOL You keep hybrids and you say stuff like that?

IMO, there is nothing wrong with Glofish. The fish suffer no pain and live like a normal zebra danio would. I still wouldn't keep them though. Too.. shiney for my taste lol

I kept Glofish and they are just healthy as the normal zebra danios. They are far from being deformed or frailing. If you don't like Glofish...take a close look at the fish we kept in our hobby. Fancy goldfish have been with us for years, but they are known for have health issues. Fancy guppies are so inbred that they are so sensitive to the water quality. Electric Blue Jack Dempsey have poor genetics and being frailing when at young size. Even albino, longfinned and shortbodied strains have health problems. It doesn't matter what fish we keep for our pleasure whenever its wild, domestic, fancy, inbred, hybrid or glow in the dark, they are kept in unnatural glass box.

I think I disagree with the EBJD thing. EBJD are pretty strong, it was the inbreeding many are a result of that make them so week. If you have strong, non inbred specimens, they are almost as tough as regular jacks.

I hate them, i totally disagree with injecting dye into fish....

It's not dye injected. It is actual genetic manipulation that is causing the fish to look like this. They are fine if you like them, I think they are a bit garrish and a fad to bring more kids into fishkeeping. As Industrial said, to each his own.
You guys must be talking about 2 different fish. Around here, glofish are small hatchet looking fish that are transparent and injected with dye... which I totally disagree with. I just googled glofish, and I've seen them in stores, but I think they are calling them something different.

Edit: Something else to think about. It may not be cruel to the fish, but what about the donor jellyfish? I'm sure they aren't treated too well...

There you have the problem. No matter what, EBJD's are not as tough as regular Jacks.

You are thinking of painted glass fish.

Not my cup of tea, but they bother me less than hybrids. At least they are not deformed and they cannot possibly be passed off as anything but a glofish.

I wouldn't mined some if I got em free but their not really my cup of tea, They'd get tossed in my pond and being so bright my turtles would probably go after them the the other fish so on second thought may be good to get some to keep em from nipping my goldfish's fins >.<
