stressed fish? or just not grown enough to develop color

my 2 electric blue jack dempseys are both very active and eat, the one in question doesnt have as much blue as the other, and is just a tiny bit smaller, hes active because i just saw him eat a ghost shrimp i put in there, but he goes from a pale color to a dark color and then back to kind of pale. hes in a 55 with one more electric blue, a firemouth of his size ( 1/2 inches) and a 1 inch black convict, here are the picturesjack2.jpg this is the dark one

They are hybrids so for me anything is possible with them.
 
dark ones the dominate one, light one is submissive.... both look fine
 
ah ok cool! thanks alot! i guess im just nervous about them because ive been trying to find this type of fish for a year lol i noticed the dominant one had 2 little white marks on the side of his head that i thoght was hole in the head and everyone i asked said it looked more like he scratched his head on something but we shall see! = D
