Will be ordering one for my 125 reef... I am a little scared to try it. Mostly worried about my starfish and cleaner shrimp. I have heard good things though. Any experience or thoughts?

My brother had a pinktail trigger in a 120g reef for a long time.
Went through dwarf hermits like no other until he reached full size (very quickly for a trigger) and was then given back to the LFS I believe.
Better than most triggers...but any of the small mouthed triggers will behave the same way...the nips are just smaller.

i dont have algae problems, so I am not sure that if it took out some hermits or snails that it would matter too much, however I want my shrimp and starfish to make it thtough. I am only thinking that it would make a very nice conversation piece in a reef tank and really look nice.
When most people talk about a trigger being reef safe, they're usually referring to their unlikelihood of picking at corals, not other inverts.
The only triggers that would probably leave shrimps and such alone would be the Xanichthys triggers, but they can be expensive (except for the bluejaws)

I don't think any trigger wouldn't make a good conversation piece... you just have to choose wisely...
Like I stated...any trigger with this mouth type is going to be "reef safe with caution"
well would the pink tail be prone to messing with my clams or do they not seem to mess with those? I am not too worried about crabs and snails at all. I also wouldnt be furious about my shrimp bc it hides a lot.
I think you should be fine in that regard...my brother had one in a reef for about a year and never complained about it eating any corals etc.
You will love the trigger, I have a Niger and Pink Tail in my reef and they don't mess with my cleaner shrimp or clams... Never had any starfish, so I cannot comment on that.... They are always first at dinner time though... I always feed big chunks at first to fill the triggers and puffer up then smaller chunks for the smaller fish... Best of luck to you....
