Right now I have both an Aquaclear 110 power filter and a Aqueon 55 power filter on my 55 gallon tank. I have sufficient filtration but the Aqueon 55 filter is so darn noisy. I have the tank in my bedroom and it rattles like crazy. What should I do to change my filtration set-up? I love my Aquaclear 110. It's a great filter so I want to keep that on the tank but what should I change? Is there anything I could add to my filtration set-up along with the Aquaclear 110 then also take off the Aqueon 55 filter?

would something of that large of a capacity be worthy of purchasing if I already have a aquaclear 110 at 500 GPH?
It sounds like another Aquaclear 110 is your best bet since you like the one you currently have so much.
A Magnum 250 HOT might be a nice complement to your Aquaclear. It is pretty much only for mechanical filtration but does a great job at it. I have an old Magnum 350 and it is kind loud... I don't know how loud a 250 is.

for $65 you can get an odyssea CFS 500 which are gets you about 450 gph, great filtration and is SUPER quiet. I run one on my overstocked 55 gallon tank and am considering getting more for my other tanks.
