I always loved the way that tank looked with the bichirs and tiles.

Is the tile safe to be kept in water? I've seen some similar slate tile and it looked like it had some oxidized deposits that worried me it would not be safe for fish.

How long did you have your bichirs on the tiles?

My 120g has had slate just like colton for about 6-8 months and no problems other than crap getting stuck under. My polys are in another tank but I have aros, gars, cichla in the tank.

cool thanks man. Where did you get your tile from? Did you notice any oxidized mineral deposits like what I'm talking about? (looks like rust)

I believe it was from home depot. And I have not noticeded anything like your describing..
