Just think of this thread every time you throw fish food in and I promise you'll put your lid back on nice and secure. Lol! I can guarantee I'll never leave it off again!!man this is a brutal thread. i hope my dog doesn't get into my stash of NLS
A little bit OXI CLEAN or Shamwow lolThe pup was totally back to normal by the next day. The light cream carpet on the other hand is going to have to be replaced. It's totally stained from the dark brown vomit. The stuff looked like thick brownie batter with chunks in it. (Sure wish it smelled like brownie batter too...)
Yeah, OXI clean plus steam cleaner brought the carpet from brown to yellow, and that's all she wrote. Nothing more is coming out of that carpet. Its completely stained.A little bit OXI CLEAN or Shamwow lol
I really don't know if it would have been worse. I've fed both for a long time, and have found that while massivore initially has a stronger odor, NLS just doesn't go away. Since I have swithced to NLS, my garage smells all the time like italian seafood pasta left in your fridge for a month. It's pretty permiating. (I've suck with NLS for a while now due to the cheaper cost, but my water quality just isn't quite the same.)Massivore would have stunk even worse.
So true this exact same thing happened to me and it was the nastiest thing I have ever smelled. My dog found that I had left the lid off of my fish food tub and pounded back more than 5 lbs of NLS. 12 hours later, he vomitted all over the place. Fish foods in general have that strong fishy odor. NLS then has the added plus of a huge amounts of garlic. After sitting in a dog's backed up GI tract rotting away in bile for 12 hours, and the results spewd all over the carpet, that smell (and texture OMG!) will probably force me to change fish foods. I've got very good control over my gag reflex after working at an animal emergency hospital for several years, but this is up there with the worst of the worst.
So heads up. Do NOT let your dog get into the fish food....
