oscar behavior

Yeah I don't want to have a tank with just one fish in it. I'm more of a community person and I hope to eventually get an oscar that fits in with other fish
 
looked at the tank, and he shredded the black neon tetra, but didn't eat it because it was too big. Now he's leaving everything alone. I've seen him and all 3 Bala's piled up into the corner together and he didn't even touch them. Stupid Oscar lol.... he's still going tomorrow lol

Y!!!! You only gave him one day?? You can always buy another black tetra is there anything special about it that would make it better than your oscar.

yup there are multiple caves in the tank and only one is inhabited. The danio and the black neon tetra (who actually is alive) have been staying in them to get away from the oscar, I guess the bala's just don't realize the caves are there. And yes the oscar has been well fed so far

naw nothing special about the black tetra, its just a sign of what could eventually happen to my bala's. I'm gonna see how he is for most of tomorrow, but if I see him continue to harass my Bala's, he's out.

Sounds fair. Wat exactly is he doing to the balas? Is he just chasing them or is he tearing their fins and or doing damage to their bodies?

tearing their fins and damaging their bodies. Their in the worst shape I've ever seen them and its only been a day and a half....

Hmmm thats very strange. Ive never hurd of an oscar being that aggressive the first day but i would still wait till tommorow b4 you make your decision

well I have an extremely aggresive oscar lol. And hopefully he will stop. He was doing it a little again last time I checked on him. I think he will have great coloration eventually so I would like to be able to keep him...
