This deserves another journal...My 190g Wild Discus build!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Dude, of all the tanks I've seen on here you seem to own the nicest ones. I have a question though, what do you do to the manzanita before putting in the tank? Are you pressure washing the bark off? I put a piece in my tank with the bark on ( I dried it out for months ) and the bark looked like it grew a fungus or something, but my pleco loved it. Anyway awesome tank as usual!

You can also have it sandblasted!!

Some long overdue updated pics. Enjoy!

Absolutely love the way you arranged the wood, beautiful fish and well done.

Amazing setup! Ive heard alot of conflicting info about keeping denisonii's with discus. what temp do you keep your tank? and how do you get food to all the discus before the denisonii's eat it all up? id really like to add a couple discus to my tank but im just worried about the temp difference and the appetites of my p. denisonii

Thanks! I keep the tank at 84-85. I know the roselines like cooler temps, but they are just fine in my tank, very active. But I will tell you though, I raised the temp a while back to about 87, and the roselines were not happy at all. They were very sluggish and would hardly swim. It seems like 84-85 is the max my group will tolerate. As for feeding, the discus all eat out of the worm feeder. The roselines won't swim up to the feeder, so I throw in a few extra worms to reach all the other fish.
