Hey guys/gals....

For those who were following my acrylic tank build that i posted in video format a while ago, im now going to be setting it up.

Heres the first video of 4....

looks interesting, i'll have to check it out if I have a spare 26 minutes.

Cant wait for the new videos :) I would love if you go in depth about how you put all the plumbing together :) Keep it up, your doing a great jobb!! I really liked those air tubes you were using, cant seem to find them on ebay, i find something that looks like them, but they have that stone surface, not just holes. Gues its simple to make by yourselfe tho.

no dead spots , good design , how many air diffuser you used ?

With the k1 medie, is it possible to have to much of a flowrate through the filter. I am int he starphase of building a 1200 gallon tank, thinking a 130 gallon sump with a turnover rate total 2-3 times. so i gues were thinking 2600 gallons an houre.

Next video is plumbing. I have a video coming up soon that im plumbing an enitre new tank. Glass tank this time though. Start to finish.

I used 4 in the sump. 2 on each end.

With any bio-filter, flow rate can have an impact. On this filter, i have a contact time of around 90 seconds. This is the time it would take to fill up that chamber with water from the pump. I have done a shorter contact time as well though. i have done 45 seconds and still had no issues. Id say that a contact time of about 30 seconds is reasonable. The longer the better... if you used half of you 130 for k1, you would have a potential contact time of 60-90 seconds depending on if you go with a turn over rate of 2Xs or 3Xs and hour.
