I wanted to add some more turtles to the house, so...

I got myself 3 little map turtles. They are 4"

Not too sure on the map subspecies though...

But, I'm going to be putting them in 110 gallons to start.

I will be picking them up on Sunday.

Could be a Mississippi but I'm leaning toward False Map.

False Maps don't have a lot of yellow compared to other species. On average they only have a small yellow dot behind the eye. The striping on the neck goes all the way up to the mouth and the iris is olive. All good characteristics that those are False Maps.

VF is right on, these are definitely false maps (G. pseudogeographica pseudogeographica). In addition to the characters he mentioned, Mississippi and Ouachita maps will not have so many light neck stripes reaching the orbit, and Sabine maps will have a round rather than bar-shaped postocular mark.
