marbled crayfish

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
According to the CA Fish & Game Commission, you cannot buy, sell or import them (and an increasing number of other species, as well), the last update I saw to this was in 2009. I haven't seen any changes to that since.

they are for sale all over in CA..after i started my search for them, they are for sale everywhere in CA

They may be, and that works out for you. But the state websites say they're prohibited. I go by what the state says.

no ones going to give you problems about having them. even if you were showing off about it i doubt anyone would even realize what they were. i got mine from Ebay and have a bunch now but i wouldn't recommend buying a berried one, they charge way more for them and more than likely she'll lose the eggs in transit anyway. just get a couple small ones for cheap and be patient. you'll be up and running in no time for much less money

i got 5 adults and 6-7 juvies..they are going into a planted 40g tank asoon as it cycles..the plants are for the crayfish..i'm stoked about having these crayfish..esp being a fisherman i'll also have bait..kill 2 birds with one stone..got food for my fish and bait to use for fishing..

PLEASE never ever ever use these for bait. if they get out in the wild they could do massive damage to the ecosystem. things like this are why they are illegal in most states now.

i did my research before buying this crayfish..i'm def going to freeze them first before using them as bait..
