what to put in my 125 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
dude the eel!!! i was looking for a peaceful eel that wont eat tetras, and the peacock was the only one really. i see people that buy them when they are babys and they are super small. do eels grow fast? and the bgk was another interest, but the african knife is more outgoing from what ive read.

My eel has stayed at about 6" and I've had him for a while. He hid a little at the beginning but now is out almost all of the time. I have him trained to eat worms from my hand too. And as for my BGk, I can't say about the brown knife because I've never owned one but as long as you make the BGK comfortable they're fine. Mine is certainly out more after 9pm but he is out during the day.

i agree with rainbows. they get fairly large and are entertaining to watch. They are peaceful and colorful. Very hardy too in my experience. The perfect community fish imo.

Silver Dollars or Angel fish to give you some size, several different colored Rainbows for color or even Gouramis, and a school of Congo Tetras or even Roseline Sharks will give you plenty of activity. Have fun and let us know what you end up with.......

The Arowana would not only out grow your 125 in a year, it would eat all your tetras if given the opportunity. Get a stingray but you could probably only have one in a 125.

will do! the roseline sharks really got my attention when i first saw them! but the price drew me away. 50 bucks for one of them and you need them in groups.

yeah an aro is a no go. i would love a stingray, problem is i have a rough gravel bed. and i hear they like sand or no substrate at all. i would switch to sand, but a part of my filtration is an undergravel filter.

Yes the Roseline sharks are really nice. I just picked up 6 of them at my local Petsmart. They go for $20.00 at my Local Fish Store , but Petstmart got them in as an Opportunity Fish or special buy and they are selling them for $7.00. I am always looking for a great deal and this was an awesome find. I am sure this is a Store specific situation since each Store from what I was told has special buys based on their tank set ups and sizes. So so far, they are a great addition to my 125g and they bring a little more color and excitement. Best of Luck..

A BGK and if you want an eel the striped peacock eel doesn't get too big.

A BGK would eat the tetras, at least mine does. Finds them a night while they are sleeping.
