Set up the new tank! Stock ideas?

Thanks for all the ideas guys! I ended up getting 12 baby guppies for $1 to help cycle my tank and some more plants. I'll move the guppies to my son's tank once I move the gouramis to the 55gallon. So if the eels need a fish that is bigger than a male endlers then wouldnt the gouramis(one blue and one gold) be big enough to not be eaten by a fire eel or peacock eel? How big does a fire eel/peacock eel get? Sorry for all the noob questions lol

You can also get some thing like a bichir. A Senegal bichir (sometimes sold as a dinosaur eel,/available at Petsmart) would work out well esp. since you have a sand substrate. Some would say no since this fish can technically get 18-20", but most Ive seen max out around a foot. A group of Congo tetras and an African Butterfly fish would make a nice little set up.

If you've seem them max out at a foot, then the people that are raising them aren't doing it correctly. I had one get to 17 inches in a little less than a year.

Fire eels can get up to 3 feet and would eat a gouramis a peacock eel can only get to about a foot and can't.

i was waitin for someone to explain how large fire eels get on this thread. get a peacock or a zig zag, not a tiretrack or fire as they get massive.
