How the hell do I always get caught up in these conversations??? ! lol .. Actually as soon as I saw the word 'cougar' I thought of myself... hahahh!!
We have an area over in Atascosa County down this creepy dirt road that has an old ran down church, and right in the front of the building is an upside down cross... never dared to venture close.. it was scary enough just going by.. ooooooowwweeeeeee!
Try sending the pictures to a nearby museum. I used to send pictures of random teeth/claws/fossils that I found to my local museum, and I usually got a response in a reasonable amount of time.
