starting to get a rust color film in my tanks?

i have 3 tanks set-up and all three are starting to get this rusty orange/red film on the rocks, heaters, and glass... gonna post pics in a min

good to know its nothing harmful, anything i can do to get rid of it? its kinda ugly... lol
 
I don't think 6 peacock bass will agree.. lol

Gotta take them out and clean. My bro's tank have the same problem.
 
less light, frequent scrubbing/gravel vac, and frequent water changes got mine under control.

I also lowered the tank temp just a bit, and that seemed to help as well.

That, or remove whatever has the algae on it and clean it.

hmm ill see what i can do. im not gonna take my fish out just to clean it. ill scrub it with them in it.

light i can do, scrubbing i can do, my tank is barebottom, and i do ATLEAST 1 water change a week. i guess ill just turn the lights off a few hours early a day.
