Well, I'm back from vacation, so here are the fishing pics from the past week! We ended up with 4 nice Channel Cats over 5 Lbs. and 2 bass over 3 lb. and a 1lber, plus some smaller cats and bass, and a few bluegill. It was nice to finally be back in the action for at least a while!
hit the potomac yesterday for some bluecats. managed a few over 10lb, a 16, and a 23. no monster unfortuantly. mainly trying new spots and didnt have any fresh bait, all frozen. spent alot of time running away from the storms.
Fishing is getting better here as the rainy season ends. the rio negro is going down abou 2 feet a week. I go every week so it a huge differance every time. Pbass are so darn hard to snag! Got a new lure and on the first time out with it got this wee beastie.
it was 17 inches Cichla temensis *spotted variant*. I am going after other species to.
He hit right as the surface lure passed by some rocks. it hit so hard that the lure flew out of the water. I didnt yank at the line and twitched it one more time. I set the hook and it yanked down on the rod. I got it away from some bushesand pulled it to shore.
