Want to try the Reptile thing

I would go with a Jackson's chameleon over a panther chameleon or veiled chameleon because of their cool horns and potentially longer life span than that of a panther chameleon. Well, that, and they cost considerably less than a panther chameleon and prefer lower temperatures than either of the other two species which can help from an electricity bill standpoint.

Lol good luck with the build...you should post a thread with pics on your process to the finish product. Those threads are always the best to read lol....that tank is going to be sick lol are you running salt or fresh?

The BIG one is going to be fresh... My African Cichlids... I have 55 right now... with some spawning going on... a few have a max size at 10"+... Frontosas & Nimbochromis'... they need more room than the 125 has... then Im converting the 125 into salt 1/2 Reef on one side and open swimming area on the other, cuts down on running Halides over my whole tank lol

@Wiggles- Jackson huh?... I'll look into it... Of course the one I REALLY wanted was the one that goes for like 5 grand... who woulda thunkit?... I forget the name at the moment... but its so awesome looking

@Muffy- working on it... lol

I have a question for you on ciclids since it seems you know a lot by them (I'm assuming because you've have them spawning). I have a 50 gallon corner tank with some ciclids. Thiers a ciclid that looks like the one in your avatar but a blue face/black stripes/body is a dark orange color. I'm sorry for the info given as it might not help much...

Well the question is, I notice he is bothering all the other fish except this blue ciclid...could it be they want to spawn? If so should I provide a slate for them to lay thier eggs? Thanks

Also I've never heard of a chameleon topping $600 let alone $5,000 :O ...I'll google it lol

Also if you do reef you'll enjoy it....however it will be an addiction that will cost big....it's been a year and I'm still putting money into the tank lol love it!

I PMd you about the Identity of your fish. As for the slate, if you have females in the tank, they'll lay the eggs wherever the male will swim over them fertilizing them, then the female will scoop them up in her mouth. If they're spawning they'll also do this little shimmy dance in a circle around where the female will drop... its pretty cool... hopefully thats the case and not a bad scenario.

And I'm sorry I lied big time about the $5k... its actually $2500 + tax and shipping, and It's a PARSON'S CHAMELEON!!! the single most expensive and rare one... my luck

Yeah I know... about tanks being expensive... I just finally consolidated down to 3 tanks from 4. I moved my 1 1/2" fry to my main tank, and shut it down... the next spawn, they'll stay in the net breeder until they out grow that, then sad to say... theyre on their own lol. PLUS, I am an avid shopper of Craigslist... its outstanding!!!!

Ok back from the link, may I ask you something? Those chameleon seem really cool and rare however if your looking for coloration you should look at panther chameleons. I could be wrong as here in new york the big things at reptile shows are Panthers and Veild Chameleons pretty much.

This company screameleons are big at the new york reptile expos, this chameleons picture are 3 of the many parents they use to produce their baby panther chameleons for sale.

I woudn't want you to spend thousands of dollers if your looking for color on a chameleon...you could use the thousands in a nice reef tank ;)

If getting a chameleon, do not mix them together with a different animal not even a chameleon of a different species. Males and females shouldnt be housed together either. Sometimes, even when they are put together for breeding purposes it doesnt always end well.
